A new youth empowerment program has been launched in Kabala, aimed at providing young people with vocational training and entrepreneurship opportunities. The initiative, supported by both the local government and international NGOs, will focus on skills such as tailoring, carpentry, agriculture, and digital literacy.
Officials say the program is part of a broader effort to tackle youth unemployment, which remains a serious challenge in the region. Many young people in Kabala complete school but struggle to find jobs, forcing them to migrate to bigger cities or engage in low-paying informal work.
Participants will receive hands-on training from professionals, as well as small startup grants to launch their own businesses after completing the program. Mentorship will also be provided to help them manage and grow their enterprises successfully.
Community leaders have praised the program, noting that empowering youth can reduce crime and strengthen the local economy. They are encouraging parents to allow their children to participate, even if it means temporarily pausing other activities.
Organizers hope that the success of the program will inspire similar initiatives in other parts of the country. If successful, it could transform Kabala into a model town for youth-driven economic growth.
